For ProcessorsAll processors interested in participating in the SOUTH DAKOTA CERTIFIED™ Beef Processing Program (SDCBP) must successfully complete initial education and training prior to application. The Governor's Office of Economic Development, South Dakota State University, the South Dakota Meat Inspection Program and industry organizations will jointly sponsor these sessions. Registration and materials will be provided at no charge.

These 3 day sessions will include a detailed overview of the program, discussion of the participation requirements and training for processors who wish to utilize the State Carcass Quality Certification System developed by South Dakota State University meat scientists. This system is similar to the federal meat grading system for assessing marbling and other carcasses quality and yield characteristics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to register and receive their official premises number.
