Because producers must successfully complete South Dakota Beef Quality Assurance/Critical Management Plan Program (BQA/CMP) training in order to be eligible for participation in the SDCEC program, BQA/CMP training will be offered as a part of each session. The South Dakota BQA/CMP program is designed to ensure cattle are maintained in a specific manner which will result in a safe and wholesome beef product for the consumer. The South Dakota Department of Agriculture, South Dakota State University, the South Dakota Animal Industry Board, industry organizations and service providers will jointly sponsor these sessions. There is a $25 registration fee.
This 1 day session will include a detailed overview of the SDCEC program, discussion of the participation requirements and BQA/CMP training. Attendees will have the opportunity to register and receive their official premises number. Additionally, they will learn to use the SOUTH DAKOTA CERTIFIED™ Data Management System to track, manage and view data for enrolled animals electronically.
